Cherenkov detector for LUXE

The LUXE experiment will employ and array of O(100) Cherenkov counters to measure the momentum-analyzed spectrum of scattered electrons from the laser-electron beam interaction. While a conceptual design exists, this needs to optimised via simulations and prototype test before the actual construction of the detector. In addition, a reconstruction algorithm e.g. based on machine-learning techniques, needs to be developed in order to reconstruct the full energy spectrum from the O(100) partially overlapping channels.
