Welcome to the FTX Group!
FTX prepares future experiments in particle physics.
We develop and nurture the expert base which DESY as a key player in future experiments needs. This spans particle physics, scientific computing, detector science and accelerator technologies.
Our current focus is the development of an electron-positron collider program, initially to be used as a Higgs factory, in line with the European Strategy for Particle Physics.
The group has about 70 members doing research in 5 subgroups:
- SLB: Science with Lepton Beams
- contact: Jenny List
- SFT: Software for Future Experiments
- contact: Frank Gaede
- DTA: Detector Technologies - Calorimeters
- contact: Katja Krüger
- TBT: Test Beam and Telescopes
- contact: Marcel Stanitzki
- AST: Accelerator Science and Technology
- contact: Matthew Wing
The group has been created at the end of 2020 from the former groups FLC and FLA, and the Test Beam team.
A recent overview of the FTX activities has been given at the 95th Meeting of the Physics Research Committee on May 2, 2023.
